- Salmon Superhero Competition Launched
Vancouver, B.C. – Superheroes 4 Salmon this week launched a competition to design new salmon superheroes. The closing date for entries is 15th January and the winning designs will be unveiled by the ‘Justice League for Wild Salmon’ at the Cohen Commission of Inquiry next month in Vancouver. First prize will be a flying visit with the Superheroes 4 Salmon in the Batboat to a salmon farm. Other prizes include a wild salmon dinner with Aquaman and Aquagirl, a kayak trip and a whale watching tour.

“Wild salmon are superheroes for us, the forests, bears, eagles, wolves and orcas – literally giving their lives and passing on their energy to sustain life,” said Wonder Woman. “If we want wild salmon for future generations then we all need to stand up as superheroes for salmon. Such is the weight of lies, misinformation and infectious diseases emanating from the feedlots that my Lasso of Truth is working overtime and we need a helping hand.”

“Norwegian-owned corporations are killing Canada’s iconic wild salmon”, said Thor. “Marine Harvest, Grieg and Mainstream – companies who now control 92% of B.C.’s salmon farms – need to go back home to Norway to foul their own nest in peace. Taking back B.C. means sending back the Norwegian behemoths.”

“We need more superheroes to spearhead the Justice League’s fight against open net feedlots spreading infectious diseases and parasites,” said Captain Condom. “The Pacific coast of British Columbia needs alien Atlantics like cancer in the testicles. Justice Cohen must rise to the occasion and advocate a zero-tolerance approach to salmon farms.”

Superheroes 4 Salmon will be paying flying visits to salmon feedlots in the Broughton Archipelago, Wild Salmon Narrows and Clayoquot Sound as well as to the Cohen Commission in Vancouver. Superheroes 4 Salmon have issued a global call for finned crusaders with The Watchmen, Aquaman and the Silver Surfer joining the ranks in the coming weeks. Last month, Superheroes 4 Salmon launched their new campaign: ‘Justice for Wild Salmon’.
