Transcripts and documents made public via Canada's salmon inquiry prove the Government has been lying to protect the Norwegian-owned salmon farming industry in British Columbia!

Norwegian-owned salmon farming is belly up in the waters of British Columbia – as dead as the proverbial doornail, dodo and Monty Python’s parrot (the aptly named ‘Norwegian Blue’). 

2011 was undoubtedly the Year of the Cohen Commission – the Inquiry into the Decline of Sockeye Salmon in the Fraser River.  Yet the level of secrecy was such that the Canadian public is still largely unaware of the historic events.   

Thanks to independent film-makers the public now have the opportunity - so shamefully denied to them by the Cohen Commission – to watch footage from the three-day ISA hearing (15, 16 & 19 December).   Judging by the embarrassing testimony from Canadian Government officials it is easy to see why Justice Cohen - appointed by Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper - did NOT want the world watching.

The Canadian Government's 'secret salmon' policy and failure to report the deadly disease Infectious Salmon Anaemia (ISA) to the Cohen Commission and World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) is coming under fire this week with protests across British Columbia.
